MDF Scotia is a type of moulding, typically made from moisture-resistant MDF, used to cover expansion gaps where flooring meets the wall, often in conjunction with skirting boardsIt provides a clean finish and helps conceal imperfections, while allowing for natural expansion and contraction of the flooring.

Material:
Scotia is typically made from Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), which is known for its smooth surface, making it easy to paint or wrap in a desired finish.

Appearance:
It has a rounded or concave profile, creating a smooth transition between the floor and the wall. This contrasts with the sharper edges of skirting boards.
Function:
MDF Scotia is designed to cover the gap between the floor and the wall, often where a skirting board is also present. This gap is necessary to allow for the natural expansion and contraction of flooring materials due to temperature and humidity changes.
Benefits:
Using scotia is a cost-effective way to finish a room, as it can be a simpler and cheaper alternative to replacing skirting boards. It also provides a clean, finished look and can hide imperfections in the wall-to-floor junction.
