Every Contemporary board carries an authentic French Oak wear layer. Furthermore, French Oak brings natural grain movement, warm tonal variation, and visual depth that more uniform timber species don’t produce. The 14/2mm construction places 2mm of solid French Oak on top of a plywood base. Moreover, that plywood core provides genuine structural integrity across the full board thickness. It keeps the floor flat under changing humidity and temperature conditions. As a result, the wear layer above it has the stable foundation it needs to perform over the long term.

The finished product sits close enough to solid timber that distinguishing between the two requires close inspection. Furthermore, you get the authentic look of French Oak timber flooring without the movement, gapping, and subfloor sensitivity that solid timber demands.
